First of all, your prospects won't stop buying, but they'll just think about it longer. They will, in fact, spend more time than ever researching alternatives on the Web. Why?

a. Because the web is the number one place to research and find what you want.

b. Just like yourself in your personal life, companies cannot afford to make a mistakes. On one hand, they will be more open than ever to innovative solutions, but on the other hand the moment of truth will take place in an arena called credibility.

Two things you should consider

1- Suit yourself with a revamped website, to better establish your credibility

2- Position Yourself as the Alternative!

The idea implies that one way to take on an established competitor is to be... the other guy! Set yourself up as the yin to their yang. You can even market yourself that way - “Cialis, when the blue pill doesn't cut it”, “Hi I’m PC, and I’m a Mac”, "Pepsi, The choice of a new generation".

Given a large enough market, even the left-overs can be very worthwhile. In one of the biggest markets, internet search, even a measly 1% of the market is apparently worth $1 billion dollars... Something to sip on... what do you think?
